RegNexus Safeguard
Prove your safeguarding — every single day.
Safeguard is the daily operations platform for regulated firms holding customer funds. It runs a controlled daily safeguarding cycle — import, classify, reconcile, resolve exceptions, approve and certify — with an immutable audit trail the regulator can trust.
Authorisation is day one
Getting authorised is the start. Safeguarding is a daily obligation.
Once a firm holds customer funds, safeguarding must be evidenced every single day — not reconstructed at year-end. Safeguard turns that obligation into a controlled daily operation your board and the regulator can rely on.
Genesis builds the safeguarding framework during authorisation. Safeguard runs it as a daily control once you are live — the same institution, operating every day.
The daily control loop
What Safeguard does
A controlled operation, not a spreadsheet.
Every step is deterministic, evidenced and segregated — designed for firms that must prove safeguarding, not just assert it.
Daily Control
An automated daily safeguarding run computes the requirement, protected funds, shortfall or excess, open exceptions and escalations — on a schedule, every business day.
Controlled Imports
Customer ledger, safeguarding bank, settlement, refund, reversal, chargeback and fee files are ingested with a SHA-256 checksum and declared control totals. Duplicate files are rejected; superseding files are versioned.
Deterministic Classification
A versioned rule registry classifies each record — e-money relevant funds, related and unrelated payment-service funds, non-relevant funds. Deterministic, not probabilistic. No model guessing.
Reconciliation
Ledger and bank records are matched by reference, amount, settlement window and refund or chargeback linkage. The safeguarding requirement is computed by entity, regime, asset pool and currency, with a matched, shortfall or excess result.
Exception Management
Shortfalls, surpluses, unmatched settlements, unresolved classifications and stale imports are raised as structured, severity-graded exceptions — owner-assigned and due-dated for remediation.
Two-Person Approval
A segregated approval workflow enforces separation of duties in code: the preparer cannot approve their own reconciliation. A daily certificate is blocked until material exceptions are resolved and approved.
Audit Trace
Every import, classification, reconciliation, exception, approval and escalation is written to an immutable, append-only log — with SHA-256-chained daily certificates and downloadable evidence packs.
Built for evidence
Every number carries its proof.
Safeguard is engineered so that the daily position is not just calculated — it is certified, segregated and auditable end to end.
- Dedicated, tenant-isolated data boundary with row-level security
- Immutable, append-only audit trail
- Segregation of duties enforced in code
- SHA-256-chained daily certificates
- Downloadable, verifiable evidence packs
- Deterministic calculations — no model guessing on the numbers
The wider operating layer
Safeguarding is the first daily control — not the last.
Safeguard is the flagship of a broader RegNexus operating layer for running a regulated firm after authorisation.
These operating capabilities are developed and released progressively. Safeguard is live today.
Safeguard is live and certified for daily safeguarding operations and is being rolled out to clients under a controlled release. Imports are file-based (CSV and structured files); direct bank-API and automated document ingestion are not yet part of the product. Calculations are deterministic and require qualified review and approval.
